A.T.(Fred) Zirkle, Founder and CEO Fred has personally built, bought and sold businesses in 11 countries. Fred has served as president and ceo for both public and privately-held companies including president and ceo of Key Tronic Corp. (computer hardware, $180 MM annual revenues), president of Alpnet, Inc. (computer software/services with offices in 12 countries) and president of VentureSum (venture capital). While based in London, Fred acquired and managed the integration of companies in 11 countries. An astute individual, Fred has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, London Financial Times, Forbes, Fortune and Business Week. He has consulted with numerous businesses concerning financing, expansion and strategic planning. Fred is past president of the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA), past chairman of M&A Source, a Certified Business Fellow, and past president of ACG-Utah. Upon receiving his B.A. at Duke University, Fred was drafted by the NY Jets, but chose to pursue a business career.
Chad Burnett, Senior M&A Advisor Chad's financial and business experience makes him adept in assessing the individual needs of sellers and then matching those sellers with the most appropriate buyers/investors. Chad specializes in the consumer products industry with an emphasis on hobby/craft/scrapbooking and outdoor/sporting goods. Nevertheless, he continues to advise clients in a variety of industries. Prior to joining IndustryPro in 1999, Chad served as an executive and consultant to both private and public companies. Chad has been on both sides of the buy/sell table, and his experience in running and then selling his 45-year-old family business gave him a first-hand knowledge of the emotions, time commitment and processes involved in selling a successful mid-market business. Chad enjoys spending time with his family and at his ranch in southern Utah, and wishes that he had more time to fly his high performance experimental aircraft. Chad earned a B.S. degree in management from the University of Utah and a joint master's degree (MBA/MIB) from Pepperdine University in conjunction with the European Business School in Germany.
Rodney A. Hawes, Jr., Investor, Board Director, Chairmon of Advisory Boa Mr. Hawes is a Distinguished Military Graduate of Stanford University and earned an MBA from Harvard University as a Baker Scholar. He served as Co-Chairman of the Brigham Young University Lighting the Way Campaign and now serves as a member of the National Advisory Council to the Marriott School of Management at BYU. He recently served on the Harvard Business School Campaign Advisory Committee and is a member of the Board of Dean’s Advisors at Harvard Business School. Rod Hawes served as Chairman and CEO of Life Re Corporation from 1988 until the NYSE-listed company was sold to Swiss Re in 1988. Life Re was the largest independent life reinsurance company in the US. In addition Mr. Hawes founded Insurance Investment Associates, an insurance mergers and acquisition firm. He and his family are now developing the 5 Guys Burgers and Fries franchise in several western US states. Rodney Hawes also serves on several boards of entrepreneurial firms and a Fortune 500 firm. Rod and his wife Beverly actively fund various philanthropic projects in education and health fields. Harvard Business School recently dedicated a new classroom building, Hawes Hall, in his honor. Davis Wei, Vice President, China Davis Wei holds a BA of Finance from Simon Fraser University in Canada. In Canada, Davis Worked in JPMorgan Chase as a commercial banking Associate, involving himself in different banking functions and accumulating extensive financial experience. In China, Davis Wei participated in IPOs and Secondary Offerings. Currently, Davis helps IndustryPro’s private equity clients find appropriate equity investments and cross-border opportunities.
David Guthrie, M & A Advisor Dave brings broad experience in business, finance, securities and real estate. He has directed multiple commercial real estate finance, development and management functions for a closely held public (SEC reporting) company with $48+ million in assets, 1,100 shareholders and 300 bondholders; overseeing 35 employees and managing $30 million in bank lines of credit. As president, Dave transitioned the company from an annual operating loss of $1.3 million and heading toward bankruptcy, to profitability in just over three years. Dave also has served as Development Manager for a large real estate development group with combined retail values estimated at over $300,000,000. Dave Guthrie is a former Securities Broker/Dealer, Licensed Securities Registered Representative, a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM). Dave earned a B.A. in Economics, University of Washington. He focuses on main street transactions in Washington State and and mid-market transactions nationwide.
John Prothro, Managing Director - Asia John Prothro acts as IndustryPro’s Managing Director, China. John directed the January 2009 establishment of IndustryPro’s Beijing office that he now manages, coordinating cross border investment and linking US private equity with Chinese opportunities. Before joining with IndustryPro, John worked in corporate growth and organizational due diligence, evaluating M&A targets in a variety of areas, including aerospace, communication, and entertainment. In 2007 John formed Insite OI, a U.S. based due diligence advisory firm focused on middle market investment banking. John holds a B.A. in Communication from Vanderbilt University and an M.A. in Organizational Communication from Texas A&M.
Mike Liu, Executive Director, China Mike Liu is the Executive Director of IndustryPro's Beijing Office. Before joining IndustryPro, Mike worked as Chairman Assistant for a leading Chinese financial advisory firm belonging to China's Ministry of Finance. Mike has more than ten years experience as a financial advisor and has been active in the closing of both private equity and public offering deals. Mike received an EMBA degree from University of Texas at Arlington in 2007 after being dispatched by SASAC (State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council) to study in the U.S. With his experience, Mike has a good understanding of the Chinese economy and a broad business network. Mike is a Beta-Gamma-Sigma member.
Trevor Anthony, Acquisition Coordinator Trevor’s focus includes the energy industry (i.e., wind, oil and gas). He also conducts buyer searches and coordinates IndustryPro’s university intern programs. Trevor’s second language is Spanish. Trevor Anthony graduated from BYU’s Marriott School of Management (finance emphasis).
